College of Charleston women place 2nd in nationals

The College of Charleston women's sailing team placed second, nine points back of Yale, in the 18-team ICSA women's national championship on Wednesday.

The Cougars (157 points) finished in the top six in all but one of 14 races in A division, while Charleston's B division took three wins and three top fours. Competing for the Cougars in the A division, which took second with 56 points, were Allison Blecher, Alyssa Aitken and Molly Robinson. The Cougars were eighth in B division (101 points) behind Andrea Savage, Erin Markee and Hanna Watt.

Boston College (165), Old Dominion (166) and Brown (197) were third through fifth in the two-day dinghy regatta out of St. Francis Yacht Club.
